Imbedding a calendar in a post

Here is the calendar for School events.

feedback

Hi Todd, As another THS teacher, I find your blog extremely useful! I can see upcoming performances as well as the many ways you're utilizing blogging tools. Slideshows of student performances would be great addition. Doesn't someone usually take photos? It would also be wonderful to see comments from school members and larger community. I typically see emails from other staff who offer praise, but the kids don't see this. I especially like the instructional videos and slideshows you posted, although I haven't had the chance to watch yet. Will you create a page about your experience in theater? Slideshows of your performances? Okay, Jill is indicating we need to wrap it up!

Feedback on Your Blog

Todd, This blog is fantastic! I like how integrated this is for your students to get class information. It's very handy also for me to keep up on your events and see how the students prepare. The layout is awesome! I especially noticed the how you organized your labels, which is something I would like to replicate (maybe I can chat with you shortly). The only area where I thought might cause you trouble as you post is in the size of your main blog area. It is a very narrow area which may cause problems as you embed documents or calendars. Also, a heads up, your Main stage plays post is not coming out how you want them to. The words are a bit jumbled. I enjoyed your layout and your template. It was very interesting and clear what the purpose for the blog is and how it will be used. Well Done!
Hi Todd
I am impressed!  Your blog looks like you've been doing this for years.

  • I really like the fact that it is so user friendly.  It's very easy to navigate and find what I'm looking for.
  • I'm sure blogs are a work in progress, so I'm not sure what could make it better until I see it!  At first I was wondering if the calendar was big enough (my old eyes struggle sometimes), but as I went through some of the months, it was easy to read.
  • I like having the Pages on the left and the Labels being in a list of bullet points.  I also liked the notebook paper template you used for the form.  I loved the cheeky quotes at the bottom!
  • I can't think of any gadgets that weren't useful.
  • I do like the template.  As a matter of fact, I was going to change mine today.  You gave me some great ideas!
  • Any other useful information....I didn't notice, are you going to have a spot for pictures of your students?  I can envision a slideshow of the plays you are directing.  Also, I noticed you don't have all of the class blogs listed...did we not invite you?  :)
Have a great start to your school year, Todd!  It's fun to get to "hang" with non-elementary teachers too!
